This year we had seven LIPS members attend the PSSNY Midwinter Convention in Saratoga, NY. Yes, it was cold outdoors; brrrrrrrr! But, inside the beautiful Hilton Hotel we were sufficiently warmed by all the comraderie of our colleagues. We had plenty of CE and updates from the NYS Board of Pharmacy, Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement and Surescripts. Did you know that only 10 to 15% of physicians are ready for e-prescribing? Did you know that if your software is certified you may now accept e-scripts for controlled substances?
We had meals and drinks together. We swapped “war stories” with one another.
Truth is, it doesn’t take much to entertain me. The exhibitors were fresh and different. They were very informative and accommodating, especially BD.
I am now going to mention a great meeting we had about Owners Lobby Day this coming March 3rd. We must show up with the largest contingent of pharmacists EVER!!! The most important piece of legislation (in my opinion) will be a law that gives us a uniform, fair procedure to challenge a below our cost reimbursement from a Third Party Plan. It is a bill that PSSNY has spent a great deal of time and energy to craft into something that the sponsors (MS Hannon and MA Rosenthal) and our membership can get behind in a strong way. PLEASE GO TO PSSNY.org AND REGISTER NOW! The earlier you register the more likely PSSNY staff will be able to make appointments for you with your own legislators.
Next, I am going to mention the PSSNY Annual Convention which will be held very conveniently at The Roosevelt Hotel (45th and Madison Ave) in NEW YORK CITY on May 29 to 31st.
